When you see a chance of rain in the forecast ahead of a weekend camping trip, it doesn't bother you. In the rain, in the snow, or in howling winds, you'd still rather be out on the trail than stuck indoors. If weight matters less to you than staying fully dry when you're pitching a tent in the rain, stash The North Face Resolve 2 Hooded Men's Jacket in your pack ahead of day trips and longer adventures to stay prepared. A fully waterproof membrane and durable nylon body equip this jacket for heavy use in heavy weather, and while it isn't as light as TNF's feathery Venture jacket, it still shields you loyally on rainy family camping trips and windy solo summit pushes alike.

Bought this for my son to use on his BSA Philmont trek. Turned out he unfortunately needed the jacket a lot. The jacket saw plenty of rain on the 12 day trip. Performance in light and medium rain was good. In heavy down pour it couldn't quite keep dry. Especially around the shoulder straps from his pack. But as he put it : "Way better than not having a jacket!" He said the jacket handled body heat well - he didn't sweat (more) while wearing it. No problems with zippers or anything else. Overall he was very happy with it and would recommend to other scouts looking for a good and relatively inexpensive jacket. Thanks to BC for excellent service always!

Love this rain jacket so much! Runs very true to size, I am 6' 0 and wear a large. The functionality of this jacket is awesome, I've have put it through a lot from intense storms on the pacific coast to light drizzles running around town. I have never been wet when in this jacket and it keeps me headed outdoors in "terrible weather" time and time again! A must have for sure!

Great all around rain/wind coat. Doesn't breathe incredibly well which isn't surprising but it can hold up to some stiff rain. Easy to take off and on quickly and tied around my waist when I needed some extra air. Very happy with this purchase.

It is light and great for walking around in medium to light rain. Being the nature of a rain jacket, it does have some more crunch than I was expecting but nothing you can't tune out. It fits well over the shoulders even when layering in case it does get a little cold. Especially now that it's Spring, it has become an everyday jacket. I am very happy with purchase and would buy it again.

I bought this jacket for my dad for our trip to Ireland. It worked great for him and is a perfect basic rain jacket for any rainy adventure.

Love this jacket. Have worn it already through 2 separate hikes in rain and light snow, kept me dry and comfortable. It’s lightweight and is even better with a base layer underneath because it runs just a bit large. Definitely recommended.

This is my second jacket of this type, unfortunately, I lost the previous one, and missed it so much I just had to replace it. Jacket is light but it provides excellent protection against the rain, and it also provides protection against wind chill. It is big enough that you can wear a softshell under it to provide warmth if needed. Greatly recommended

I was looking for a replacement for a 5 year old Marmot Precip that did not have any lining down the sleeves, which caused a clammy feeling and made me wonder if the fabric was still waterproof. My Gearhead Emily checked and yes, the sleeves are line on this terrific jacket; meaning it will not feel clammy and will have at least some insulating/windproofing qualities if worn over a baselayer or two. As another poster below me noted, it fits just a little large, so you can accommodate something underneath; but it's not so large it looks baggy if you don't. Got a subdued color because I needed to be able to wear it for professional client visits. Highly recommend!

This jacket is key to staying dry out on a hike or at a local sporting event. Packs up super small so you can stash it away in a dayback. DryVent membrane is a reliable waterproof layer that has been tested over and over again. Pretty relaxed fit so you can wear a base layer underneath.

Gifted this to my brother for Christmas, he likes this style so much he ended up buying a second one in a different color. Great for the mellow So. Cal "winter's" :)

I returned this product because the fit was off -- too small compared to other north face styles. I would recommend going a size up.

Jacket fits like an athletic cut jacket, lightweight yet warm! No wind can cut through it. It’s highly water resistant, water beads right off. The hood is kind of bulky when rolled up but overall great jacket!

I've had this jacket for a few months now and it's perfect for everything from a light mist to heavy rain showers. Only major complaint is that there's no chest pocket for phone/personal item storage, but the bottom pockets are both roomy.
