Brought as a gift to replace pants she's grown out of. TNF is a decent alternative to way more higher priced options. Fit/form/function is great and will work for a couple of seasons....lots of features (pockets/thigh pocket) that aren't over the top (whiz bang) and work great.

I bought these for my 15 year old daughter, who is 5'8" and 130 pounds. They look great on her - the "long" fit is spot on - overall fit near perfect. I would have bought the insulated, but they were sold out. Overall, I am very impressed with this pair of pants. Incidentally, I am 5'6" and 125 pounds, and they were a little baggy and long on me. They have an adjustable waist though, so they would also have worked fo me (except for the length).

I'm 5'5" 130 lbs and these ran really big all the way around. Size down if you order.

These are the first pair of ski pants I've bought in years. I have always been in love with The North Face, so I may be a little biased, but I love these pants. I got them as a birthday present for myself. I was looking for pants that would fit my wide hips, be able to freely move, had pockets, and had ventilation- and of course I came across these North Face pants. I'm impressed, they have all I need. Only reason I gave 4/5 stars is that it is true they are bell bottom pants, but overall fit great. The bell bottoms basically cover my entire size 9 foot, but I don't think it'll really bother me while tree skiing this season. Just means more fabric to cover my boots. *UPDATE* Adequate for the job. Bell bottoms still don't bother me. But the waist for the pants is very uncomfortable when skiing and restricts movement. I sized up and got a large, but it still doesn't work.

I ordered these for my daughter who is 5'10" with a 34" inseam. While I knew the longs would still be a bit short (only 33"), they were much shorter than I expected. They also JUST fit, with no room for layering and she usually wears size 3-4. Much smaller than the size chart indicated.

I'm typically a 28 in waist for jeans, but decided against the small since I usually layer up. These are great! They're not baggy by any means and give me sufficient room for layering while moving around in them. I haven't tested them out in the snow yet, but I'm excited to do so. Huge shout out to The North Face for having Short/Regular/Long options!

I read all the reviews and was struggling to pick the right size, but I'm happy to say that these fit perfectly. I'm 5'1-ish and weigh about 115/118, and the small/short size fits great. Definitely not loose or baggy, but I can easily move around, squat down, etc. without feeling restricted. Even with one layer on underneath. There is also velcro around the waist to make it tighter if needed. I'm also pleased with the material. My previous snowboard pants wouldn't stay dry throughout the day, but these pants feel like they'll be more waterproof, so I hope that's the case! My initial impressions are great, I hope these pants live up to it! Oh and some people have said the bottoms are very flared like bell bottoms, and I wouldn't necessarily argue with that, but if they were any more narrow, it would be tough to get over my snowboard boots, so I don't have a problem with it.

I'm 5'2" and 125 lbs and the size Small fits perfectly. I normally wear a 27 pant (sometimes 26) for reference. There is just enough room for a layer underneath and the Short Size makes them fit perfectly. You can tell they have warmth but they dont feel heavy or obstructive. The buttons are a little hard to snap at the waist, but i imagine this might just be the pair that I have and not characteristic of them all.

Gave these as a gift - this is what they had to say! "I love these pants! They have kept my legs warm on really windy ski days. They are very durable. The fit is flattering which is hard to find in snow pants. I love that you can choose different lengths! I am 5 foot 2 and the shorter length has worked great."

Between 4 different brands which included mountain hardware and Patagonia, this pant was the one I chose to go with. It does run a bit small so I would size up one size if your usual size is somewhat snug if you want a bit of wiggle room. I'm usually a small and medium was perfect with a base layer and still gives me some room in the thigh to be comfortable for hiking in. This is also a good option for those of us who have a small waist and thicker thighs roomier thighs with an adjustable waist band. Length is good for hiking boots- I'm 5'5", but on the shorter end for skii boots. Also- they're affordable. A win for north face.

I just used this new pair to ski in New Zealand and it survived the rain pretty well, I could see water droplets literally rolling off the ski pants whereas some of my friends got wet. The insulation is thin and light unlike my older ski pants, so look forward to taking them to Japan this winter!

Bought these for my wife and she absolutely loves them. They fit her just right and the quality is excellent. Lightweight material that keeps the wind and snow out. She really liked the color and the cut / style of these, ultimately choosing them over the Mountain Hardwear Link Insulated Pant.

I was so excited to find ski pants in short length. Unfortunately, the sizing and cut was off. The XS was too small in the waist and the small was too big everywhere (I'm 5'1, 115 lb). They also were like bell bottoms and made me look shorter than usual. Otherwise, the pants were nice fabric with good pockets. Just didn't work for me.

I know function trumps fashion, but these pants provide both. Being tall, I need long size in most pants. The North Face Freedom Pant in long was perfect. They keep me warm, dry, and look good. Base layers fit easily underneath them, and the adjustable waist makes said layering super easy. 10/10 would recommend.

I put these to use as soon as they arrived. I am normally a 6/8 in pants. I size up to a L, (10/12) so that I could layer. These fit comfortably with a pair of thermal leggings underneath. There is no way a M would have fit! I am 5'5 and about 150lbs. I've had issues with the rise being too short on snow pants but these were fine. If you're much taller than 5'5, I would get the longs. I debated sending back the regular and getting a long, but I really only needed an extra half inch so the "L" would have been TOO long. I used them hiking through some frozen wetlands and woods. They held up great. I'm looking forward to using them more!
