This sharpener is great for keeping your plexiglass scraper in tip top shape. I've found that I need to run my scraper through this after about 10 waxes or so. Keeping a nice sharp edge on your scraper makes the scraping process significantly easier and faster. Once I've run my scraper through the sharpener, I can scrape a pair of skis in only 1 or 2 passes rather than having to go back and bear down on the scraper. The world cup version of the sharpener is really easy to use since it has guards on both sides of the scraper - this thing makes it very easy to keep your scraper vertical as you pass it over the file.
