I have a great backpacking sleeping mat but I wanted something that is more comfortable for car camping surf trips where I'm sleeping in a tent for 2 weeks or more. Enough room for me (5'6") and my 80lbs Weimaraner! This is exactly what I needed! Also, the price dropped after I purchased it and Backcountry was super chill about crediting me the difference.

After about 6 nights on this I'm very happy with it. It is a huge upgrade over our old thermarest. I found that I needed to fine tune the pressure - the first night it was over inflated (yes you do have to add a little air with pump or lungs) and too firm, so I let a little out the second night and found that I liked the cushion level but was feeling some rocks in a few of my bonier places. Because I got this strictly for car camping I wish it could have been an inch thicker so that I could leave it at the softer level and still be high enough off the ground. I don't have a lot of cushion on my body at 6'2" 160lb so may sink more than others. having said that, It's still the best mattress I've ever slept on in a tent...almost tempted to carry the extra weight on our next back packing trip.

I had high hopes for this pad. After inflating it for over an hour, it was mushy and when I laid on it, sunk right thru to the ground. Not even close to a Thermarest 1". I will be returning. Now I have to go find something in a store before I leave to camp tomorrow.

I've never used any sleeping pad like this before. I opened the valve and left it in the bottom of the tent then went to hang out by the campfire. When I arrived back at the tent for the evening it was inflated and I closed the valve and had a super comfortable sleeping pad. Really awesome car camping product! Super comfortable sleeping pad that is self inflating and holds air.
