Stretchy, sturdy, and built specifically for the saddle, the Rebel Shorts are Sombrio's answer for women who rally. The shorts are built from Sombrio's Quattro Flex Mid fabric, a typical cycling name for a decidedly cycling material. Quattro Flex Mid features the same four-way stretch as our road jerseys but with durability to stand up against grasping branches. Between runs, a lift pass cord keeps your credentials handy; during runs, the slightly longer front leg panels eliminate knee-pad gaps without the risk of bunching behind your knees while pedaling.

I initially really liked these shorts. They fit well and were comfortable. However, after washing them about five times (and following the wash instructions), they began to pill terribly. I cannot recommend them for this reason.

I was looking for something similar but different to my favorite pair of shorts, which are the Sombrio Summit. These Rebel shorts fit the same. I am pumped! Great length. Perfect stretch. The silhouette/cut is actually flattering for someone with hips/butt/thunder-thighs (unlike so many other shorts/brands that only fit if you stand up really straight and.or bend backwards and suck in your gut - you know, the opposite of how you actually stand, let alone ride a bike). These have one zip pocket on the lower left leg, which is a thoughtful placement while seated on a bike, and includes an internal tether for a lift pass or key, along with a smaller sleeve inside the pocket (i.e. for credit card, id, etc). The 2nd pocket is a right rear pocket with zipper.

Always have a hard time finding a good pair of shorts that stay above my knee pads without a gap and finally found a pair. They are also super comfy and don't seem to be restrictive at all. I am 5'08" 130 lbs and ordered a small.
