I've had this helmet for almost ten years now. I'm a little surprised they're still making this same model, but lo and behold, here it is. This helmet is really comfortable, and keeps your head REALLY warm. I don't really wear a hat, balaclava, or hood unless it's a super cold one. Only downsides really are that the vents aren't closable, but they rarely need to be, and that the helmet is pretty darn heavy. My Medium weighs about 19 oz. For size reference, my head is about 22" circumference on the dot, and the Medium is just a tad looser than optimal, but at almost 10 years old, and having protected me from countless falls, the foam and lining may have compressed and stretched, resulting in a bigger fit. Pros: Comfortable Warm Durable Simple Inexpensive Cons: Not size adjustable Helmet/goggle gap and cold foreheads, but only on the really cold days Heavy Vents can't be closed

Bought this for my son. The size is accurate and it fits nice. He wears a thin balaklava underneath. Padding in all the right places, plenty warm with adequate venting.

I placed my order for this helmet in black at about 5:30 on a Wednesday and by 9:30 that same day it had already shipped out! My helmet came just in time for me to use it at work and fits perfectly!! Very VERY impressed with this company!!!

"Good fit even when wearing a beanie underneath. Nice strap holder for the goggles."

Fits true to size, my hat size was right in the range for what this said it should fit and it’s perfect. On warmer days it’s enough by itself, under about 30 I put an UnderArmor balaclava on. Super comfortable, can wear all day without issue.

Definitely worth the spend! I got a MEDIUM and it fits perfect! It is pretty warm so if you want to wear a beanie underneath I would go a size bigger!

Feels solid, warm and comfortable! I got a medium and it is a little on the bigger size however it's adjustable so it fits nicely. I have it in matte black which I really enjoy. Overall a good helmet for a reasonable price.

Got a medium size and helmet fit is nice and snug for me. Definitely no room for a beanie or anything. I also have a buzzed head...ok I'm balding, but whatever. The padding feels nice on my exposed scalp. The ear pads are removable and they even have a zipper on them to access the inside. Can be useful if you wanted to remove add padding. The only method of adjusting the fit of this helmet is the chin strap. There is no knob on the back for adjustments like other, fancier helmets. No gaper gap when using the I/OX goggles I got and same story with my cheap UVEX pair. Low price and does its job.

I already have a Holt helmet in a medium. I hit my head in it last year and noticed it moved more than I thought it should, so I got the small in this one. The small fits perfect and I love the magenta color. It fits well with goggles and doesn't leave a gap. One thing I really liked was that you can remove the foam in the ear covers on warmer days if need be, but the padding in there really keeps you warm on cold days.

I had to return this helmet since it was too big - however still no refund or credit. they say returns are easy however our experience was the opposite. Still waiting to hear - we will need to dispute with my credit card company... this is not enjoyable exercise...

I bought this helmet for my boyfriend to replace his almost 10-year old snowboarding helmet. We recently used it on a ski trip to Montana and he loved it! The fit was perfect (love that the inside is adjustable), no need for a beanie underneath, and fits with his Smith goggles. One of the main selling points on this was the clip on the back to hold the goggles on. I can see this being a long-lasting, protective, durable helmet for years. And as always, thanks to Backcountry for the killer selection, service and crazy fast shipping. I love love love shopping here!

It fits great and protects the noggin. Do not need all the bells and whistles, just something to protect my head.

At a very reasonable price, you are getting a solid helmet that's just about what you'd expect for an under $80 helmet. I usually fit size large headwear comfortably, but when I bought a size large in this helmet it seemed to run a little big. So I wear a thin beanie under the helmet for added warmth and a more secure fit.

Warm, comfortable helmet. Adjusting was pretty easy with some plastic snaps inside. It's not as convenient as the click wheel on my giro, but easy enough. Wore on a frigid day and a bluebird and was comfortable even without adjustable vents (I wore a beanie both days). Padding was comfortable. My ears stayed warm, and the pockets held my wireless headphones great. I really like the matte finish. Wore with my Oakley goggles and no gapping. Helmet had everything I needed at a good price.

Good helmet, and the orange looks great... but you will need to wear this helmet with a beanie if you don't want the plastic irritating the heck out of the back of your neck. It also runs just a tad too big, and fit nearly perfectly with my midweight North Face beanie. It's also a bit wider than I expected, so my goggles struggle to fit around it. Aesthetically pleasing, yes. Protects the noggin, check. Extremely comfortable, eh.

I rode with a helmet that was too big for me for a long time. So when I bought a new coat and pants this year I added a this helmet to cart because it was cheap. It fits, the shape is a little less appealing than it looks online. There were a few plastic skull savers in the back that would dig into my neck the first 5 times of use but it I don't notice them now. I think I was most disappointed that I have smith goggles and they don't fit the helmet regardless the intuition fit sticker on it. On cold days the wind really freezes out my forehead. I'll probably be buying a new helmet next year. But for now it's keeping my brain in place.
