Smith Guide's Choice ChromaPop+ Polarized Sunglasses - Men's for Sale, Reviews, Deals and Guides

Absolutely loved Smith products. My last pair of fishing glasses lasted 6 years before I stepped on them and broke them. Bought the howler bros guides choice qnd loved the color and how light they are. Until the lenses started to discolor after 4 months. Looked like an oil spot. Smith said send them in and I lived with it. They offered to look at them and replace for 60 percent off or free if it was a discount. Slightly frustrating for sunglasses under a year old and almost $200. Fast forward to wearing them on the boat with the supplies retainer. The wind caught them and ripped them right off my neck. I was not doing anything wrong nor did the retainer show signs of wear and tear and my boat isnt even fast. Guess you cant wear the retainer while on the water. Ironic for q pair of glasses that claim to be "guides choice"Called Smith and asked if I could possibly get the 60%. Nope. Nothing offered until I fought. Smith does not stand behind their product so after being a loyal customer since 2001 with snow goggles, helmets, bike glasses and several pairs of fishing glasses I will gladly move on to another brand. Offered a 20 percent discount when your pro form is 40. Hope you enjoy that minute savings vs loss of business as it comes time to replace and upgrade. Wait until your lenses peel and then your retainer fails while hung around your neck on the boat. You're all the sudden out $180 pair of glasses.

These sunglasses have been awesome for hiking, mountain biking and general use. The clarity of ChromaPop is second to none, this being my first experience with the technology every time I put them on I'm blown away! Great protection from sun, I have fairly sensitive eyes so this is a big plus for me. Do smudge up extremely easy, but I guess that's why you take care of them. These also look great, at least on some people.

I have 2 pair of the Guides Choice in the techlite (glass) and one pair of these Chromapops. The fit on my face is incredible as I have a larger-than-average melon. If you haven't tried Chromapop, I would highly recommend it to you. Colors appear deeper and more intense, especially on bright spring days :) I have the bronze mirror lenses and I really enjoy them for everyday activities. I usually use the Techlite Green or Ignitor lenses for fishing, but the Bronze would work well too. Get yourself a pair, you won't regret it!

Picked these up with the polarized chromopop+ amber lenses, replacing some Costa Blackfin 580P Green mirrors, for fishing the local rivers. The chromopop+ polarized lenses work great for spotting fish without straining my eyes. While still a big fan of my Costas, the Guides Choice are noticeable lighter on my head. They also feature a detachable leash, a thoughtful touch on some well-rounded fishing glasses. Lastly, I highly recommend springing the extra $ for the chromopop+ lens.

Seeing how most reviews I've read about the Guides Choice are from a fisherman's perspective, I should say: I don't fish. I got these to replace my 6 year old Native Trango's for everyday wear, hiking, and as a backup for mountain biking. The first thing I noticed is how stunning the world looks with these on. I've never experienced sunglasses that make the day look so great - the colors pop and everything looks like it's in HD. To match the lenses, the fit is spot-on. It has a great base curve, for full coverage, and the large arms do a great job at blocking out the sun. While wearing them casually, there's not much to complain about. Now, for the negatives. Being someone with very sensitive eyes, I need a darker lens for very bright days. While these are great in the afternoon, they're not dark enough for me when it comes to the morning/evening sun. Also, I haven't found the megol nose & temple pads to be very effective. While great against dry skin, while wearing them backpacking this past weekend, they consistently slipped down my nose. It wasn't a pain to deal with, but it worries me for future activities.
