These pants just get the job done. They add a ton of warmth, and I wear them on cold resort snowboarding days or long, cold hikes in the wintertime. Wool ensures they don't smell even after multiple days of hiking in them. My only complaint is the fit. These pants just make you look like you have a diaper hanging from your butt .

When the temperature gets below -15 F to - 30 F. The ideas will fall away and you will be glad you have these. There is cold, and then there is cold. If you don't know, I can't explain it too you. God bless.

This is my first Smartwool base layer and it fits perfect on me. Snug but not constricting especially on the calves where it is usually a problem area.

These are super warm and are the perfect baselayer. I have ridden in them a bunch and if anything they are too warm...

Solid baselayer that keeps me warm without feeling bulky or restrictive. This plus a good pair of bibs keeps me warm skiing in all but the coldest of conditions.

Very comfortable and a great base layer. I like this product because not only is it soft but keeps you warm and is not bulky. I have worn this snowboarding and it kept me warm. Great fit. I would definitely recommend this product .

I'm 6'2" 175lbs with an athletic build. I bought these and the matching long sleeve top in size Large. The top fits perfect. The bottoms are a little loose but the right length. They are very comfortable and warm. Great base layer for snowboarding, I highly recommend.

These were true to size. They were very warm as I was skiing in 10 degree weather. They were a little long but I didn't mind that at all.

I bought a set of these, both top and bottom for my buddy who used them on a 2 week trek to Everest base camp, with overall elevation gain of 30,000 feet and temperatures between 10-50 degrees Fahrenheit. He reports the fit is excellent, however slightly better suited for someone less slender. Also noteworthy, the fabric didn't lose it's shape nor noticeably begin to stink after 10 days of straight use. He said the 250 weight was perfect alone during warmer parts of the day and layered during the night.

My husband's old fleece long underwear was worn out and I couldn't find an equivalent replacement. So I decided to try smartwool and it is beautiful and soft. They fit him perfectly and keep him nice and warm.

I was skeptical of these being too warm for the Utah climate, but was I mistaken! I would preface that I enjoy being a bit more toasty and this base layer has been my go-to since I had I picked them up. It is a base layer so I was worried about the tight fit but once you start moving around, it doesn't feel you have another layer on! My under layers usually have a thick band around, but it was a nice change with these not having such a thick band although they don't slide down which is super nice. It recently had snowed locally and it was perfect timing, went for a hike and kept warm the whole time with no issue with breathability. I came back home as a new man!

I bought this a few month ago for a high adventure backpacking tip and the did not disappoint. It was very comfortable to wear. I was surprised on how much moisture it wicked away. I was pretty warm the whole time.

A few months ago I decided to hike the W in Patagonia with friends and bought these in preparation. My purchase was fueled by a desire to stay warm and all the rave reviews - verbal and written. Straight outta the box, they were everything I thought they'd be (in my Dennis Green voice)...extremely comfy, light, warm and non-restrictive. And, most importantly, they kept me warm in my sleeping bag night after night in Patagonia (temps were generally in the 30s or lower). I'd highly recommend, IF (big if) you have some wiggle room in your budget. I also bought a cheaper competitive brand and the quality was not even close - Smartwool is by and far superior. Because they were amazing, I also bought two of their 250 longsleeve shirts for my trek - another solid choice. Sidenote: I saved the bottoms for bedtime and hiked the W wearing a Smartwool 250 long sleeve and a pair of Marmot quick-dry pants. Any more than that and I got too hot. I occasionally threw on my puffy jacket or rain jacket depending on the conditions but tried to keep it simple on the trail and keep my cozy (dry) stuff for at night.

Gave these as a gift but even in the frigid Canada conditions these held up well. Fit was true to size and no complaints hear.

bring these along on any even slightly chilly trip to be cozy as can be around the fire or in a snow shelter. Heavy weight, fits well, and the wool prevents the trail fuck stink, so just one pair is all ya need for week long trips into the backcountry.
