A quick glance out the window tells you that today's weather conditions won't be pleasant, but at least you're prepared with the Simms Challenger Jacket. Its Toray fabric repels rain and keeps icy gusts at bay, while still offering breathability so you don't get soaked with sweat when you're hiking to your secret spot. Duck inside the three-point adjustable storm hood when the rain is pelting down, or stow it in the collar when skies are clear. Either way, stormy weather won't be so challenging when you're in the Challenger.

This jacket is great. I am a big guy and I have the 3xl jacket and it fits me and leaves room for me to cast and maneuver. This is a very warm jacket the lining in the jacket makes it so I don't have to wear a base layer. Its warm enough for me that I use this jacket as my winter coat. The only thing is it can be too warm in summer rains and is not the smallest pack away if you are carrying it all day in your pack. If you are looking for a rain jacket for the 30 mid day shower I would find another lighter jacket. if you are looking for a quality, all day, spring fall or winter jacket this is got your name on it.

Got this for a friend, they used it camping during cold/wet weather and they say it is a great edition to their outdoor gear collection.

Perfect for wet days on the river or walking the dog. Fits over waders or bibs with plenty of shoulder room.

I fish a lot from a drift boat in the PNW, and it rains 99% of the time. This keeps me dry.

The Challenger jacket is the perfect fishing jacket that won't break the bank. Great price point on this jacket makes it more affordable to the masses than its Pro Dry Simm's counterparts. The biggest difference being that the higher end gear is make with GoreTex and the Challenger uses Simm's proprietary waterproof/breathable membrane (Toray 2 layer). I really like the fabric of this jacket, it is soft and supple against your skin and quiet so those spooky fish can't hear you coming. The oversize fleece lined collar is great for keeping out the elements as is the highly adjustable hood. Will fit over pretty much anything you would have on your dome while out on the river. The Challenger is a slightly longer cut than standard . I usually wear an XL and that is what I got here and it fits great. A little on the large side but I think that is to be expected as these are probably going over top of your waders. Something to note as that this is really more of a rain jacket than a wading jacket as there are no fly box compatible pockets like on the higher end models from Simms.
