Shimano's Ultegra group is ideal for the discerning rider who wants to maximize the performance-to-dollars ratio. With Shimano engineering and manufacturing expertise, the Ultegra CS-R8000 Cassette has been designed to provide a wide range of teeth choices and allow riders to choose the ideal setup for road, gravel and CX riding. With the top five cogs grouped together and riveted to anodized spiders to ensure stiffness and smooth shifting, as well as the remaining cogs with individual spacers and an anodized lockring, the Ultegra Cassette has a range that goes up to 32T, providing a wide range of gearing options.

Shimano has always been a leader in innovating and perfecting drivetrains and the Ultegra cassette is no exception. Its wide range of features and intricacies, such as the wider spline which corresponds to the freehub, are designed to ensure that the cassette can only be installed correctly, with the shifting ramps perfectly clocked for faster and more precise shifting. This unique feature, known in Japanese as Poka-Yoke, helps to ward off any user errors and provides a level of confidence and reliability to the system, making the Ultegra CS-R8000 Cassette the perfect choice for the discerning cyclist.

The ultegra cassette is the sweet spot in the price/weight/durability spectrum of shimano (and other brands) cassettes. My go-to for training and racing. I ride about 8k miles/year

High quality, light, easy to install, good price, smooth shifting and comes in a wide range of tooth options. I use the integra cassettes on both my ultegra and 105 rigged bikes; bought this one for a gravel rig I am building. No complaints ever.

All cassettes wear out, and Ultegra cogs are a great replacement for the high priced Dura Ace OE gear at a slight weight penalty. Big thing is Competitive Cyclist shipped the right part very fast... Smooth running for this weekends rides!

My whole drivetrain is Ultegra. This cassette went on easily and it's great having a larger gear for climbing Utah's canyons. I ratios are still great for downhill and flats. Get one

Ultegra is long wearing and use it with an Ultegra chain. Runs smoothly. I've never had one break on me. If anything, they wear out over time as any metal parts wear out.

I use these cassettes on both my Ultegra and Dura Ace equipped bikes. Yes, the Dura Ace cassette is lighter but after breaking two DA cassettes I've decided that there is nothing fast about "broken". I'm not a huge power rider either, I just think the DA cassettes are under-built to achieve their lightness. Sure pros use them but they are getting new cassettes put on constantly. So, save yourself some money and get this Ultegra-level cassette which will shift great and not leave you stranded.

Half the price offered by my LBS. Hopefully lasts longer than first. So hope to see same value when in need of new change in 5-6 months.

The basics: the cassette shifts nicely, like I expect from Shimano. The obvious trade-off from a 27 or 28 is the spread between various gears. The huge upside for my old arse is the lower end, climbing a 10% or whatever grade. Going from a 28 will likely only require adjusting the derailleur stop screw.

I love how Competitive Cyclist always has quality components and clothing at competitive prices. Though I should have pulled the trigger a week prior because it was even less, I still felt that I received the best deal at the time from all of their competitors. This cassette will be a match for my new Enve 3.4 disc wheels, to match my current stock wheel/cassette combo.

Bought two, to have one on the indoor trainer rear wheel and, one for road rides rear wheel setup. Hard to beat for the price and the mid level weight, compared to dura-ace or Sram XD at three times the cost for only 50-70 grams less, save those for race day! Can usually get 2-3 chains worth of life out of one rear cassette and set of front chain rings, then again, I clean my drive line after every ride and lube it, makes a huge difference in life of chain, gears, and how bike shifts.

I have these combined with Shimano Ultegra SM-RT800 Disc Rotor on my Reynolds 58/62 Carbon Disc Wheelset and appreciate the performance when all combined.

Smooth precise shifting. Purchased 11-25 to replace 11-21 for middle-gear range benefits. Ultegra - highest quality cassette with probably a little more durability than Dura Ace. (Obviously, a little heavier)

This cassette is very light and works great with my r8000 derailleur. I'm running a 11-28 cassette with a 50/34 crank.

Perfect cassette for the money. Running 11-28 with SRAM Etap and DuraAce Chain. Crisp, precise shifting and seems to run a tad quieter than its 6800 counterpart.

I upgraded my 105 5800 to the new Ultegra R8000, and purchased the 11-28 cassette to match my new short cage derailleur. Coming from an 11-32 105 cassette, this upgrade to Ultegra earned me a 60 gram savings! Ultegra 11-28 cassette weighed 246 grams on my PT scale.

I gave this cassette as a gift to a family member who was really looking for a little bit more to help climb the canyons around us. Installing is the same as all Shimano cassettes, and the shifting is smooth and crisp! She is extremely happy knowing that she can run the R8000 cassette with her existing 6800, and is now able to go climb the roads just in time for fall. If you have any questions on the new R8000 gear, please reach out to me.
