Juggling a chain pin and a chain tool while keeping the two separate ends of the chain together often results in the pin falling under the work bench, couch, or desk. Just fine. Work as they should. Pricey at $3 per pin. Wonder what a chain would cost if they priced it by the pin at $3 each in the chain...

Always a must have when using Shimano chains. I always like to have a 3-pack on hand for builds and working on other peoples bikes.

These things are a time saver. It's worth the extra few bucks to have these on hand rather than trying to re-use an old pin while on the side of a trail. Plus, re-using pins cause a weak point in the chain the is likely to break later. I know, it's happened to me. Twice.

If you run a 1x11 shimano chain you should get a pack of these and a spare link or 2 in the tool box or riding pack, the worst thing is to get stuck in the backcountry without a chain.
