We've had enough frilly, overly squishy, and flat out flexy women's specific saddles that waiver under pressure. When we hit the tarmac with power and force, we need the same support as our male counterparts, albeit with a couple of tweaks that accommodate our anatomy, and Selle Italia seems to have a grasp on our needs with the SLR Lady Flow S Saddle. Packing in a light and stiff shell that holds up to the long grind, the SLR Lady Flow S is hungry for long miles, race days, and chasing down PR's, with just enough padding to take the sting out of road chatter.

The saddle features a carbon fiber reinforced nylon shell that lands at about a 30/70 ratio, respectively, striking a balance between weight, pliability, and responsiveness. This happy medium translates to just enough flex to "hammock" appropriately for comfort, while still taking some of the shock and vibration out of the road. The shell features the same dimensions as most of Selle's men's line, with 131mm width and 275mm length, offering support for those with average width sit bones. Its center cutout is a bit larger than you'll find on some of the men's models, relieving pressure on the perineum and your most sensitive anatomy.

Since most women's sit bones relax at a steeper angle, we tend to require a touch more padding against the point of our ischial bones, which is why Selle equips the saddle with generous padding to take the sting out of long miles and rough roads. In a concession to the extra padding weight, the saddle is equipped with Selle Italia's TI 316 alloy rails, which complement the carbon-reinforced shell to bring the claimed weight down to a respectable 185-grams.

I ordered this seat in hopes of upgrading and having maximum comfort on long rides. It is extremely uncomfortable and painful to sit on after just a few miles. My standard ride is about 20miles. I even ordered a pair of top of the line riding shorts in hopes of easing some of the discomfort. It didn't help. Unfortunately, I'll be throwing this thing in the bike scraps pile.

I love this saddle. I went through the Julianne saddle first. Then I had a few ergon and kept the gel one. Now I have this one also, to switch back and forth. The first sensation I had when I got on this was awesomeness. It lifted me up higher than the ergon. It just sat well. The dement-ions are just a tad smaller from ergon. They are 131 vs 138. However it feels great. You won’t be disappointed. Sit bones feel great..!!..

I currently ride a Selle Italia saddle on my MTB and know of the quality of this brand. I bought this saddle as a gift...the recipient says she loves it.
