That's why the Aerotech Evolution X TSA Case from SciCon is the perfect solution. This Italian-designed case is made from a high-impact ABS composite, making it incredibly robust and light at just 11kg or 24-pounds. The Aerotech Evolution X TSA Case stores the bike's wheels in dedicated compartments and has a special storage bag for the seatpost and saddle. It also maximizes space with a Suspended Frame System (SFS) that holds everything firmly in place and allows for easy visibility for security to inspect the contents without having to remove anything. This case is now compatible with thru-axle systems and is equipped with two Travel Sentry approved TSA key locks for added security.

The Aerotech Evolution X TSA Case is designed with convenience in mind. It has four ball bearing wheels that rotate 360-degrees, allowing you to move your bike upright and rolling in silence. It also fits easily into vehicles and is perfect for navigating busy airports. With this case, you can have peace of mind knowing that your bike will arrive safe and sound at its destination.

I have used this case traveling all over the US now, on a variety of airlines. I also used UPS to ship my bike coast to coast and the case is still holding up perfectly with no damage at all to my bike! Best part is that it is a 5 minute pack job when you are familiar with how everything goes, and the little bit of extra room for gear or other "non carry on" items is a bonus. Scicon also has amazing customer support now that they have a US biased facility, called them up when I lost a my key and had a flight the next day, and I think the customer service rep drove to the post office himself to make sure the key shipped out same day!

The Evolution case is amazing! It takes very little time to put your bike in it. The structure and size is perfect for my bike which offers great padding and the straps hold it down very well. It has been used about half a dozen times with nothing damaged to the case or the bike. The wheels and outer strap allows for easy traveling in and out of airports. I would definitely recommend this hard case to anyone that want to travel with their bike safely.

This is exactly what I was looking for. The cut-outs for wheels and frame help lock everything in place. I didn't notice any shifting when I opened it up after a 5 hour flight. I was worried it wouldn't hold up well since it's so lightweight, but after two plane rides it only has a few scratches from being tossed around. Seems solid and I expect it to last a while. If you're looking for a solid but lightweight case to make bike travel easier, this is it.

While the case is designed very well, and packing is relatively easy, here are the main issues. For one, the plastic used is very thin and after just two times shipping my bike via FedEx, there was a sizable crack in the top of the case. After my third shipment, one of the silver latches on the side of the case nearly broke off. Of course when I reached out to both Scicon and Competitive Cyclist, they said neither of them bear any responsibility for this whatsoever. They blame the shipper, which is preposterous. The whole point of a hardback case is to PROTECT your bike during expected wear and tear and shipping back and forth. FedEx didn't do anything wrong; we expect boxes and such to face some banging around. So now after three uses, I have a case that is pretty much non-functioning. And no one will help me. Not Scicon, not Competitive Cyclist. Everyone passes the buck. Far more durable is the Thule hardback case, which I owned previously. But I was suckered into the nice design here. Telling you now, this is a huge waste of money on a poorly constructed product. And the second you buy it, Competitive Cyclist will walk away; they won't stand by a product they sell.

Makes travelling with my road bike easy and stress free. Takes me no more than 10 mins to pack. A great feature is that everything has its place in the case. Frame is secured with straps, wheels go into wheel compartments, saddle & pedal goes into a storage bag. With everything in place all components are easily accessible. Should TSA have to inspect the contents - which has happened to me - putting the components back into the case as TSA agents have found them is fool proof. Great product and hasn't let me down on several flights.
