Slightly heavier

Slightly heavier

A slightly heavier floating line casts effortlessly and provides exceptional performance across a variety of fishing scenarios. With its increased weight, the line is able to cut through the wind more effectively, generating longer casts and greater accuracy. It also offers improved contact with the fly and the water, allowing for more precise presentations and improved lure control. Additionally, the extra heft of the line helps to reduce tangles and ensures the line is less prone to snags on rocks and weeds. All in all, a heavier floating line is an excellent choice for anyone looking to get better results on the water.

All my reels have RIO lines on them. I bought this for one of my spare set ups and my initial impression is that it is weed wacker line.

No loop on the backing end, so practice up on your nail knots! this line preforms well for the price, casts smooth, and mends well. I have yet to catch on it, so its performance under pressure is still up in the air, but the line did end up sinking a bit on the first day of use.

Great line--just getting started or have many fish-tales under your belt, this WF line is a good choice, good value, and the ice green color looks pretty awesome on the reel or in the air (if color matters...).

I just entered the fly fishing world and was told you couldn't go wrong with this line for the price. I went with the 5wt Rio line and have been really happy with it so far!

I've got a few of these, one as backup for my 5wt in case I break a line on a trip which as been known to happen. $40 is totally worth the piece of mind and better than sitting out part of a trip. I've also got a few 3wt versions of this on antique reels I don't fish day in day out, but use occasionally. I'm a fan of RIO and this line is solid value

This is a great all around trout line. This is a perfect line if you're just starting out and not sure what to get. It casts and mends well and you can't beat the price!

If you're a beginner fishing with a bargain line, do yourself a favor and buy this. This line will instantly make you a better caster. Especially when trying to be accurate and delicate.

I recently set up a new reel and needed some 3 wt line. I wasn't too worried about long-term quality so I decided to get a budget line. So far, I have had no issues with this line. In a 3 wt, I'm not making long casts or pulling in big fish. Just need a line to help put a fly down softly on the water. This one does the job.

If you're new to fishing, it will be fine. However, I found that after trying to cast anything more than about 20-25 feet of line, it wasn't very smooth. For short casting, it was great. For the price, you can't beat it. But I invested in the Rio Gold and was much happier. But also paid twice as much :-O

RIO makes great products and this fly line is no exception. Casts well, and stays clean even in dirty water. Worth the investment.
