It's been said in the world of mountain bike components pick two of the following characteristics: lightweight, strong, and cheap. Though we're sure there's a few components that buck this characterization, they're about as common as Sasquatch sightings along the trail. Hitting both the lightweight and high-strength aspects of this famous trope,  the Race Face Turbine-R 35 Stem features CNC-machined 6061 aluminum for the best in all-mountain strength without the serious weight penalty. Its high-volume design improves upon the ever-popular Turbine Stem sourced on many trail and XC bikes, with the 35-millimeter clamp working harmoniously with the beefier 35-millimeter diameter bars preferred by all-mountain and enduro riders.

I wish it was clearer that this stem is ONLY for beefier handlebars. was super disappointed to realize this while trying to install.

I just put the 40mm version of this on my Yeti SB4.5c and it looks great - pumped to see how it feels on the trail, since I'm downsizing from the 50mm stem that came on it.

I really like this stem. It’s 35mm clamp for the new bigger bars, no-rise, and machined beautifully. The top-lock clamping design takes the guess work out of evenly tightening the bolts.

This stem seems to be a copy of the old Easton Haven stem, which I had good luck with in the past as well. The Toplock design is simple and a bit easier to check tension every so often. Seems moderately light with good styling.

I've been running Race Face as my cockpit/crankset setup on a few rigs now and getting the Turbine Stem on my newest bike (Evil Following, Med Frame size) on a 50mm size and it runs pretty well. Has a solid feel with a lower profile body and the sizing with my T-Rex shape is good with the frame I run. I may try a 32mm size to fine tune the fit and get a bit more reaction from the front end of the bike. The only gripe I have is while the overall shape is low-pro the head of the stem is bulky enough to where it gets weird with my light system. Granted I run a Gemini Titan handlebar light (freaking awesome by the way) so the light is a bit bulky itself but it gets in the way a bit.
