This is by far the most lightweight and packable mid layer jacket I've owned without compromising warmth. It's now my go-to jacket for skiing, overnight winter camping, hanging around at the trailheads, walking the dog/errands, etc. The hood is a little tight but that allows it to easily fit under a helmet. Overall, love it and highly recommend adding it to your fleet!

This is a great jacket, love the cut, fit, and warmth. But beware the hood can be ridiculous tight as to be unusable. I love the jacket but the hood renders it unusable (at least for me), so sadly I need to return it. I'm 5' 2", 108 lbs, got the XS which is my usual size.

I ordered the medium, and it was very large on me; exchanged for the small and....too small. The difference in the fit between the small and the medium is remarkable. What gives? If I'm going to pay $200+ for a jacket, I expect the fit to be superb!

Grabbed this jacket in a navy blue color and loved how well it fit as well as how light it was! Awesome jacket for running errands or running up hill. It works great for layering when it's cold and wearing alone when it's just chilly!

This is a really great layer. Its the perfect layer for casual use in the fall and for aerobic activities in the winter. I love wearing this around town, it looks good with most outfits and keeps you toasty warm. I recently brought this on a chilly rafting trip, and it was a great layer to have. I wore it over my wetsuit when rowing through flat water; it cut the wind and cold nicely. In terms of fit, I typically wear between a XS-S, the small was a little roomy on me which I like. My only complaint about the jacket is the slight cinched down on the bottom of the jacket; it helps keep out wind and cold, but can be slightly uncomfortable when its cinched up on your butt. Overall, a wonderful layer to own!

It's incredible how such a packable lightweight jacket can keep you so warm! I used this for a bikepacking trip in the alps and it was the perfect do it all layer to pack when you're tight on space. It kept me plenty warm in the high alpine and looked good walking around town too. It's obvious why so many people love this jacket!

This jacket is incredibly versatile and convenient! It's packable, warm, and breathable, making it the perfect layer for outdoor activities. Wear it on its' own, throw a rain jacket on top, or stack on some layers, you really can use it in any season.

This jacket is seriously the perfect layer. I use it a ton around town in the winter. It offers the perfect amount of insulation and warmth for my quick commute to and from work, without overheating. I also use this as more of a mid layer for ice fishing and it’s awesome. I can take off my outer layer and not freeze to death on the ice. The material was also a better than I expected it to be in the snow and slush, if I did happen to get wet it was easily brushed off or just slides right off not much really seemed to settle it seem through.

I gave this as a gift and have some feedback from the receiver. She loved how light it was, the color, the pockets, the size, and the warmth. She just loved it. The only downside she mentioned was that when she wore the hood, she literally looked like the Patsy from Monty Python. Not kidding. I know it is for under the helmet, so it makes sense, but it makes it rough for when you do not have a helmet.

I have a few of Patagonia's other puffy jackets (the down sweater jacket and the nano-puff) and this one is well worth the extra money! It is so lightweight and pack-able, and I would say it's warmer than my nano-puff. Serious quality and a lifetime warranty. Definitely a go to for every day wear as well as outdoor activities.

This jacket is SO lightweight and packable while also keeping you toasty warm! I run cold and was apprehensive that this jacket wouldn't keep me warm enough. I wore it on a yurt trip as a mid layer for hanging out and hiking and I stayed nice and warm. I never even wore my big down jacket. I tried the XS and would actually size down into the XXS because I would like the jacket closer to my body. This jacket does fit long in the torso which I liked!

What can be said about this gem that hasn't been said already? Overall, I am a big fan, and gush about Patagonia's ability to make super light, but warm jackets. It's not perfect, but it's an excellent piece that I find myself grabbing again and again for a variety of reasons. It's a great layering piece for a shell jacket for skiing (if you don't mind the double hoods) and seems to be quite breathable and odor resistant, a great belaying jacket for frigid temps on its own, or even just wearing on top of your city outfit to stay warm around town. I love all the pockets (although sometimes this can get confusing, remembering which pocket you put your stuff!) - there are three zippered ones on the outside (two side, one chest), and two open ones on the inside - it holds so much I don't feel like I even need a purse sometimes although maybe that's just me. Small gripes: yes it is packable, but kinda voluminous/hefty still. I packed it down really tightly but it was still a large cylinder and was awkward to put into my snowboard jacket although doable. Still a great feature! I find the hood a bit awkward as well. I don't know if it's cause of my long hair that I don't tie up getting in the way or whatever, but the tightness of the hood pulling down isn't very comfortable and I found myself taking it off. Or perhaps cause I'm tall & my longer torso pulls down on the jacket (I got a Medium), but that seems to be the dealio for now - I don't really use the hood for this reason. Otherwise, I love this jacket and find it super versatile and awesome. Long live Patagonia!

This jacket is amazing! It's unbelievably light and packs down incredibly small, so you won't even notice it in your pack. It's also ridiculously warm -- if you put it on inside, you'll immediately notice the difference. I love its low-profile fit, and the fact that it's true to size. Patagonia nailed it with the Micro Puff! It's a bit pricey, but it's worth the investment in my book (plus you get a lifetime warranty!).

This jacket. Wow. So warm, stylish and comfortable. Worn it skiing, hiking, and has been great for afternoon naps. I don’t think I’ll ever take it off. True to size. I have a Medium in this and the Down Sweater. Only size up if you think you’ll want to wear more than two layers underneath. Because it’s perfect just the way it is.

I took this jacket out for the first time on a hike this winter with my dogs. It was awesome! It was probably 25 degrees or so when we started and warmed up to around 36 throughout the hike and this jacket kept me nice and toasty. It packed down super small (especially compared to my other synthetic jackets) when the uphill got hot. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a good insulated jacket for backpacking or winter adventures. The fit is true to size. I wore a small and typically wear a small in Patagonia products.

I've been wanting a Patagonia jacket for years and I'm happy I started with this one. It definitely isn't as warm as my parka but for what it is, it's surprisingly warm. Several of my friends have the same jacket and love it as well, so we all can match. It's the perfect everyday jacket as long as it isn't blizzarding that day. The hood is really my only complaint, it has elastic on the edge and is kinda small so when it does snow it will cover your head, but you'll kinda look like a dweeb.
