From winter backcountry tours to summer alpine treks, the Patagonia Calcite Jacket will keep you dry when stormy weather hits in the mountains. It features a waterproof, breathable Gore-Tex membrane with Paclite Plus technology for a lighter weight and more packability than most waterproof rain shells, letting you bring it along on any trip without worry. Underarm vents cool you off when a grueling trail or summit pitch has you heating up, and adjustments at the cuffs, hem, and  hood keep out the wind when you don't need that extra airflow. Plus, the hood is sized perfectly to fit over an alpine helmet, so you can keep your head shielded from rain, wind, and snow without sacrificing protection.

The Calcite Jacket is the perfect top shell to a touring kit. It's light, breathable, and SUPER waterproof - making multi-days in the backcountry easier when you need to stay dry. I have this in the coral and gypsum green and love both colors and wear it ice climbing, skiing, and everything in-between.

Wore it on a morning hike in the humid Texas summer and had an unexpected downpour. Amazingly, I didn't overheat and it kept me completely dry. I generally hate hoods but this one did great at staying out of my face while keeping the rain out too. I keep this along with rain pants in a little stuff sack in my day pack, and it packs down to about the size of my fist. It's a bit heavy compared to some, but I prefer solid construction (and a little bit of fashion) as opposed to the lightest thing in existence. Important to note where the pockets are, they're a little low if you are wearing a hipbelt from a pack.

beautiful color (green) and heavy thick material for waterproofing. If it had a two-way zipper at the bottom to loosen the snug fit a tiny bit it would be perfect (or if it just was a little looser at the bottom in general). I bought the size XS, and I am 5'7'', 128 pounds for reference. just worried the snug fit at the hip will get annoying with active movement and push the jacket upward.

Comfortable jacket, true to size and leaves room for a little bit of layering. Great jacket

Bought this jacket as a present for my wife and she loves it! She took it on a trip to Central America and it packed away perfectly, and kept her dry! It has a Gore-Tex Paclite membrane that keeps her nice and dry even in the worst of rain.
