A summer classic for a reason, the Patagonia Baggies Shorts are at home in the water, on the trail, and everywhere in between. A DWR-coated nylon body lined with comfortable mesh dries quickly and breathes well, and the elastic waistband with an internal drawcord gives you a casual fit with the ability to tighten when the going gets a little more serious.

I do not recommend this company. I ordered some shorts and received the wrong item in the mail and when I called to get it fixed, the guy was unfriendly and unprofessional. No one apologized for the mix up and then of course the item originally ordered was out of stock. Will not ever order from here again. No one tried to help me at all.

I love Patagonia's stuff but had reservations about these baggies. After trying them out, I'm hooked! I've always used board shorts and still will. but these have quickly become my go-to when going swimming or paddleboarding. Fit is great and true to size. They seem very well made and like they'll last for years to come! Quickly dries which makes them even better. usually pretty good to go after packing up the ISUP and getting the 4runner loaded to head back home or camp.

The baggies are a go to for me when it comes to shorts. Super casual and comfortable for everyday use. The liner it comes in can easily be cut off based on preference. Such a classic pair of shorts that I will continue to wear.

I've been wearing Baggies since the late 80's. I've used them for Mt Biking, Climbing, Tennis, Backpacking, Swimming, Surfing, Hiking and Lounging. I went through my last pair in the late 90's, and didn't get another pair until recently. They were great back then, but they're now dated. There are better shorts out there for most uses, as they have a number of design flaws: - They don't have a zipper on any of the pockets. Making them nearly impossible to securely hold anything (e.g., a credit card) during an outing. - The interior liner isn't particularly comfortable. The pockets are structured so if there's anything in them they hang down, and the liner bunches up. - The interior corded key-ring is a nice addition, but its dark color stained the lighter my lighter colored shorts. For hiking, I'd rather wear my Patagonia 9 Trails shorts, which are great. For surfing/swimming, I'd rather wear a pair of board shorts. For tennis and other forms of exercise, I'd rather wear something with a compression liner to keep my bits for bouncing about. About the only thing these shorts are great for is hanging out at home NOT doing anything, which seems distinctly off brand for Patagonia and a short that has been labeled the "original fun-hogs." They're just OK for everything else.

I have 3 pairs of these. They are great hot conditions utility shorts. The pockets are nicely drained and they are great for being in and around water. I cut the liners out. I’ve never understood the mesh-underwear seen into your shorts idea. Patagonia does it no better than anyone else, it’s still awful IMO. I will absolutely buy these shorts, but the liner comes out immediately.

Four years ago, I bought my first pair of baggies. I have packed this pair on every trip since then; overseas to the deserts of Jordan, on my carry-on on the way to Europe, in my daypack for a week trip to Colorado, and in the backseat of my car on a road trip to New Mexico. These shorts have held up to countless bike rides, swim outings, climbs at the gym, and impromptu runs. I can't speak highly enough of the Patagonia Baggies, these shorts will be there for it all.

Love wearing these while pretty much doing anything.. Lounging around the house, exercising, hitting the town.. Lightweight quick drying fabric. A great all around warm weather short.

The fabric doesn't seem as nice as my previous 6 pairs and the fit is less baggy. The big issue, however, is that the pocket bags go all the way to the hem; they used to stop above the Patagonia logo. Why is this an issue? Keys, change, phone, etc... bang the top of your knees. Also, it is a pain to reach that low to get your keys, change, phone, etc... I sure hope this was an issue with the contract manufactured and NOT the way baggies will be going forward.

These shorts have been nothing but great to me, I have owned about a dozen and they have all held up extremely well. Used them as swim trunks, hiking shorts, basketball shorts and just about anything you can think of and they have been absolutely amazing nonetheless.

Baggies are a summer staple for a reason. They just plain work. Absolutely comfortable, tons of colorway options, and great durability. I like my shorts on the shorter side (bob weir got nothing on me) and these fit the bill. I love being able to hike the dogs, then jump in the lake, and have them dry enough to be comfortable to cook dinner in shortly thereafter. Fits true to size for my body type, and you can't go wrong with a company like patagonia.
