It's hard to say whether Osprey's Porter 30 Backpack is more of a backpack or duffel bag. As a backpack, the Porter can carry a day's worth of trail essentials for long hikes. As a duffel, the Porter is easily carried through airports during quick weekend getaways. Multiple zippered access points to the main compartment allow for easy access whether you have the Porter as a pack or a bag. The Porter's massive pocket configuration includes a dedicated sleeve for laptops, a front organizer for travel documents, and a zippered top pocket for easy access to liquids.

Bought this as a gift and they haven't stopped thanking me. It's the perfect size and has places for everything. She took it on long distance flight and it worked great, it fit right under the plane seat and was comfortable to lug all her things. Great Bag!

I cannot be happier with this bag. It is the absolute PERFECT carry on. I packed it so full and it still fits in the overhead storage on a plane AND under the seat. It fit everything I needed and more! It is so easily adjustable and is so comfortable to wear even when it is full. I love that the straps are stowable, and the laptop sleeve is perfect. I could not be happier with this pack!

This is a good bag for sure. I would only like to add one more thing: I was flying AA without access to the overhead compartment. I had my bag roughly 80% filled and it fitted perfectly. However I don’t think it would work if the Porter is completely packed.

This bag is good for carry-on luggage. By tucking the straps in, it makes for a sleek bag to slip up into the overhead compartment on the plane. Then for trekking through the airport or around the city to the hotel, just slip them out and clip them in. This bag holds a lot for 30L. I used packing cubes. I really like this bag and the freedom it gives me when traveling by plane. This is my first Osprey purchase but won't be my last!

I got this as a gift for someone but have heard only amazing reviews so far. The pack is great for travel and can carry a lot of weight in an adjustable size. Having he carrying hold makes the porter easy to transport as a briefcase or a backpack.

Nothing beats the taste of that dark, malty beer, but this Porter helps me get around a little better than alcohol ever could. I've taken this on weekend trips to California and Las Vegas. It certainly stands the tests of time by coming to work and on car camping trips, too. The laptop sleeve comes in handy when it's time to pass TSA.

On this updated Porter, Osprey moved the laptop sleeve to close behind the users back, so that the weight is closer to the person's center of gravity. Much more comfortable! Leta Osprey Rep
