I love my road running shoes from On so I wanted to give their trail running shoes a try. Unfortunately, I find the Cloudventures to be stiff and uncomfortable. The cloud cushioning is great on road, but makes it really difficult to get a sense of ground feel when navigating the terrain on trail and beyond. The spacing between the cushions is also problematic when rocks get stuck in between them--a total buzzkill having to stop to remove a rock from the sole when I'm having fun bombing down a hill. One positive is that the traction on these shoes are pretty good on the trails I tested them on, including on some snow. I would have returned them, but it looks like I waited too long to do so.
