Knock out mileage on rugged trails all season long in your La Sportiva Women's Akyra GTX Trail Running Shoe. A tough trail shoe for high alpine traverses and soggy fall training runs, the Akyra GTX has got you covered. Featuring a breathable and waterproof Gore-Tex lining, these kicks keep your feet dry while you're crushing a muddy ten-miler, and the AirMesh upper dumps heat during sunny summer jogs.

The durable TPU upper offers protection from craggly scree fields, and the shock absorbing EVA midsole helps keep your ride smooth when the terrain is anything but. La Sportiva's Impact Brake System uses opposite slanting lugs to increase your braking power when you need to scrub speed on the downhill, and FriXion Trail Rocker 2 rubber soles improve your traction on uneven terrain.

I love Sportiva hikers and that's all I wear to hike in the mountains. I like the Gortex to keep my feet warm and dry and these offer that. They are very supportive and grippy on the rock. I had another pair 39.5, but they felt too tight descending and I find that the 40.5 for me who is always a 8.5 fits much better as maybe they run a bit small. Great shoe and nice esthetics to boot!

I have a hard time fitting shoes properly (countless REI store visits), but these fit like a glove! La sportiva shoes are great for narrow feet, and I don't feel any heel slippage or toes touching the front when I go downhill. I've tried other la sportiva hiking shoes like the Stream, but couldn't get the fit right with heel slippage. I find La sportiva shoes to have a good amount of volume (good for reducing impact) which can cause that weird off-balance feel at times. These shoes have volume but I find the balance issue minimal and un-noticeable. I've had the non-gtx version for 2 years now and love them. Got the gtx version to round out those rainy day hikes. I'm a size 6 to 6.5 in street shoes (6.5 in Nikes) and the 37.5 was a perfect fit. I use it primarily for approaches for climbing (rocky terrain, muddy trails) and they're grippy and great.

I'm giving it 5 starts b/c of how well the shoe is made and its extra grippy sole. Unfortunately, these are going back after trying them on for about 3 minutes. All around too much volume. Does not fit a narrow foot.

This is my first pair of Akyras...I really like them. They are super stable laterally and very grippy on descents. I love the warmth and waterproof-ness for wetter conditions. They do seem to run a little large compared to other models.

I bought these shoes for my sister before her backpacking trip. The shoes were only broken in for about 2 hours while walking around the house. She covered approximately 25 miles in 3 days and absolutely loved them. Not a single blister and didn't have any pain at the end of a long day. The Gore-Tex lining kept her feet dry while crossing streams and felt very stable with great traction while scaling up and down steep inclines on rock faced cliffs. She's not a trail runner but continues to use them on day hikes and still loves them. She has owned a few backpacking and hiking shoes and these are her favorite pair.
