Set up base camp, whip out the Helinox Chair One Camp Chair, and suddenly your friends will regret their decision to sit on the ground or pull up a stump. This comfortable little chair uses a mesh seat suspended on a lightweight aluminum frame. Easy to set up and easy to break down, the Chair One Chair is ideal for car camping or even overnight backpacking trips when you want a little extra luxury around the camp fire. Its pole technology is the same that DAC uses in their high-end Helinox trekking poles and tent poles, and the hub-and-pole structure keeps the poles attached at the seat joints so all you have to do is unfold the poles and position the back and seat stays to ready them for the seat cover. When you're done at the camp site, the Chair One folds up small and easy into the included bag for easy travel and storage.

Of all the pieces of gear I lugged with me on my backpacking trips this summer, there's nothing else I've been more grateful to have then this chair. Creature comforts matter, and they go a long way with your camping experience. Sure, you can use a log or the ground, and you can save the space and weight, it's not cheap either, but an actual chair designed for humans is far and above the best. I never regretted having this in my pack, and I won't go without it. They're fairly light and small, and are extremely easy to put together, they virtually assemble themselves, and can hold me and my weight with no problem. Not machine washable, but fairly easy to clean by hand. Treat yourself right, and get this chair for your backpacking trips.

It's ironic that such a lightweight chair can provide so much comfort, but it definitely does! I love how easy this is to set up, and it's lightweight enough for me to take on backpacking adventures as well. My best friend recently kept stealing it from me around the campfire, and her only feedback for it was she wished it had cup holders. I don't mind not having them, so long as I'm not on a rocky ground in the middle of nowhere!

This chair is a fantastic compact lounging chair. For the size and weight, it is surprisingly light! I used it around the house for extra seating for visitors and everyone loved it! You will end up being only a few inches off of the ground so you end up having to jump out of the chair when done. I weigh 240+ and this chair holds me without a problem!

This chair is great! Light and packable. We take it just to watch kids soccer or baseball games as well as on extended backpacking trips. Honestly, this is just a great chair that does just what you need it to do... be a chair.

Light, easy to assemble and I really appreciate that it fits back into the bag easily after you break it down! Super comfortable, breathable and good looking... if they had included a drink holder, I would say it is the perfect camping chair. Drink holder aside, I would still repurchase!

A friend of mine brought one of these on a camping trip and I had to have one after trying his out. Super comfortable for sitting around a campfire. I normally car camp but I suppose you could backpack with them as well. It packs down small enough that I just keep it in my car for whenever I need it. Comes in handy for post mountain bike ride beers.

For me this chair is a good compromise. I am 6'1" and about 210 pounds. This was the smallest chair I could be somewhat comfy in for more than 5 minutes. This one is wider than most and the sides of the chair don't dig into my sides, as it IS wider than the other "backpacking" chairs that weigh less. This one is sturdy and really easy to set up once you have done it a few times. I don't take this backpacking every trip, but the longer, or shorter ones I do. Longer because I want the relief, shorter, because I don't care how much stuff I bring since it's short. it packs down small, but it still bulky. It rides outside my pack sandwiched in-between the lid and main pack body. It weighs over 2 pounds with it's bag according to my harbor freight scale. Here is the skinny: Not as comfortable as a full sized car camping chair, but more comfortable than the 1 pounders for this not so little backpacker!

I bought this chair mainly for car camping and it has been great! It is crazy light weight and it can be taken anywhere. I have even brought it with me on backpacking trips and it has been worth it every time. The chair is super light and comfortable.

a little low but that doesn't mean it doesn't get 5 stars, light and comfy. Quality construction

I've been in the market for a travel chair for a bit. This one fits the bill as it is lightweight yet feels incredibly sturdy and reliable, The set up is similar to a tent, with easy connecting rods. I feel very comfortable in this chair.

So, when I think of car camping, I don't look forward to sitting in my Helinox Chair one. It's solidly built, impressively so, but simply not nearly as comfortable as a $5 garage sale bought regular camping chair--and for some tallish like me (6'2", 165 lb ectomorph male) it doesn't do anything for my neck and squeezes a bit uncomfortably just under my armpits. So, if you are car camping exclusively, then just go for the garage sale and save your money. But, when I think about using it on a hike as an alternative to sitting on the ground, it's good: we used it on a day romp in the woods and sitting in it for an hour or so was great--and entirely made possible by the chair's modest weight and size. We never would have taken a regular chair up and down the bluffs on a day hike. So, how do I score this? I suppose I will give it a four because for its intended use, it is clearly competent, if only a little pinchy on a guy with broad shoulders like myself. But, again, if you really mean to use it when a regular camping chair will do, just go for the regular chair. But for a light weight alternative to sitting on the ground. it's great, and seems uber solid for the long haul.

It's just a chair, but they are light, easy to carry, you can fit them in a backpack, and they are comfortable. What more could you want in a chair?

These chairs are super sweet. Compact when packed up. Can't believe this chair breaks down like it does. Should last a long time, whether in the mountains or on the sidelines.

This chair is not only great for camping and backpacking but basically anything. I’ve also taken to park, beach and soccer games to watch my kids. Super lightweight packs small and doesn’t take long at all to set up. All my friends want one now. Also it feels very high quality and durable which you can tell the difference when you try a simialar type of chair but cheaper and it’s definately worth the extra money for comfort and durability.

We love this chair! It is sturdy and very comfortable, as any good camp chair should be, but the selling point on the Helinox is how compactly it stores. Previous to purchasing these chairs we had the regular fold-up camp chairs. They took up so much space! With 2 adults, 3 kids (2 of them teenagers), and a medium-sized dog, space is at a premium in the 4Runner. Make the investment in this chair. You won't regret it.
