Sometimes you manage to plan the big ski trip around a perfect, beautiful, knee-burying storm, and other times you're staring at a 50% chance of snow and praying to Powseidon to deliver you some deep days. No matter what conditions you find on the mountain, you'll stay warm and dry in the Flylow Snowman Insulated Pant. A two-layer waterproof fabric keeps you protected when the heavens open up in answer to your prayers, while low-bulk synthetic insulation brings toasty warmth that won't weigh you down. When you start to overheat after bouncing through some powdery tree runs, the large thirteen inch outer-thigh vents welcome in a rush of cool air to keep you from burning up. Rugged Cordura reinforcements around the ankle cuffs give you added durability where breakdown frequently occurs, and multiple front and rear pockets store all the snacks, maps, and other essentials you need for a long day on the snow.

Compared to other insulated pants, these hit the sweet spot -- just enough insulation to warm, but not move and feel like the Stay Puft marshmallow man. Colors are great, fit is great, but I the 10K fabric doesn't feel like it would stand up to much water. However, they really need to make this in a Medium Tall, like the Chemical pant. For a 34 inch-waisted person with 33 inch inseam, these are just too short -- 30.5 inches. Compared to the Patagonia Insulated Powder Bowl in Medium, these are 2 inches shorter. I measured them side by side. Too bad, because I like FlyLow pants. Returning.

Pretty good waterproof pant with insulation. Keeps me really warm on colder days with a merino wool baselayer under.

Flylow has silently moved to one of the more reliable and popular snow clothing brands and the Snowman pants do very well to show why. The style is the perfect blend of adding color without too much pop. The fit is a bit on the larger size within the size runs but the medium was perfect for me with a bit of a longer inseam and a moderate leg opening size. The warmth amount is good but not too much so those who are very cold naturally may want to base layer appropriately on the coldest days. Finally, I haven't truly tested the outer material in a super wet day but it has deflected most normal winter water that I have thrown at it and it seems moderately durable

Typical Flylow relaxed cut which is appropriate for an insulated pant like this. Quality and finish are awesome. Makes you want to go straight out in the cold and get after it!

The material of the pants were high quality. Durable, strong, appeared very solid. I'll admit the legs fit rather baggy, but I like them that way.

I ski in the Canadian Rockies and winter resort mornings can be stupidly cold (-25/-30c). I hate wearing thermal underwear though as I overheat later in the day when it warms up or when I escape the resort for a quick skin or bootpack. I've just picked up a pair of these to handle those days on the recommendation of a friend. The insulation is not bulky but they're definitely much toastier than my shell pants. And they they have some big thing vents so I can dump excess heat in a hurry as soon as I start going up instead of down. The fit is typical for Flylow - the perfectly relaxed fit I look for in ski pants. Super happy with them so far.
