Very light and extremely comfortable. I have bad knees and this is really the only boot I have that I can wear for extended periods standing, walking, working outside, etc. Going to buy several more pairs for insurance.

Initial thoughts are: these are comfortable right out of the box, no break in time, vibram tread is very grippy, & they are light enough to leave your feet feeling happy after a hike.

I was pleased to find out how light this boot was. Fit seemed true to size, snug and comfy but not too tight. I question the durability though. They already have noticeable creases where my toes bend and the sole.

If you love boots the way I love boots then do yourself a favor and take a look at the Danner 600 boot. The quality of construction and materials can’t be surpassed. I have owned several pairs of very expensive Italian and German made leather hiking boots (as well as other Danner leather boots), and none of them were as comfortable out of the box as the Danner 600. I have found my new all-time favorite boots. I’ve ordered them in two colors thus far. I consider them a cool - cold weather boot as the full grain leather would be too hot for me in the summer where boots like the Salomon X Ultra Mid or low shoe would fit the bill. In terms of eye appeal these boots are wonderfully designed with both classic as well as modern appointments. Sizing can be a bit tricky. The Danner website says to downsize by 1/2 size for the best fit. I followed their advice but found the boots to be too small and returned them for my normal size which works wonderfully and leaves me room for a pair of wool socks. My first impression when wearing the boots the first time was that they were like wearing moccasins made of clouds... the cushioning is remarkable. I can’t yet speak to their trail prowess, but for extreme comfort around town, in snow, and out for an evening, they are the best footwear I have ever owned. I have no doubt that the Danner brand name combined with excellent Vibram souls will make for a superb trail boot as well.

I usually wear a size 12 in street shoes, so I ordered a 13 as they don't offer a 12.5. When I tried them on with hiking socks, I found I had to take the insole out and even then the side of my foot was experience some uncomfortable pressure. If they offered a wide, I would have tried that. Sad too because I hear so many good things about Danner and love the look.

What can I say – it’s Danner. If you’re serious about your hiking boots and quality materials you definitely cannot go wrong with this boot! I bought this boot for trekking across campus in the winter (snow storms and ice), and every step was taken with confidence all while keeping my foot dry. It is not a heavy boot and looks stylish with an updated retro look. I’m usually a size 8.5 -9 in sneakers but went with a size 8 in this boot and it is perfect!

I got these for my boyfriend as a gift because I have the women's version that I love! So this review is based off my suede version :) These boots are very comfortable and functional right out of the box. I did not even break these in before wearing them on my hike. The vibram sole helps with the longevity of comfort and stability, They are also great at gripping all sorts of terrain...rocks, mud, crazy tree roots, you name it. I've only hiked in this warm PNW summer we've been having, looking forward to trying these out in the fall/possible winter. Paired with a great sock, this boot makes me enjoy hiking even more. Tends to run a half size big, so I'd order down. Definitely a great quality design by Danner. I highly recommend these!
