This isn't a technical piece and it's not something I would wear out in the backcountry hiking. But it's a well-made, thoughtfully designed mid-weight knock-around fleece. If you see it in the $50 -$70 price range, it's a really solid value. Hard to beat, really. Construction is solid. Material is not top-of-line, but is pretty good.

I went hiking in Colorado for first time and this hoodie was the best thing I brought with me. It was very versatile and handled everything I threw at it. It worked great as an outer layer even when it started to snow heavily unexpectedly. The fabric helped keep the snow off and not let it soak in. I never felt wet while hiking after about an hour in the snow. As far as the size, it is an athletic fit. I am 6'1" 195 lbs and this fit nicely.

Ah generally I only buy Arc’teryx, ortorvox, or mammut. Took a risk here and it’s is now my favorite full zip. Unbelievable quality especially for price. Backcountry did an excellent job on this product. And I never write reviews.

New favorite shirt/jacket to wear in the mountains, for yard work, and even just working from home. Iâm 6â2â and about 210 pounds and am quite active. Size XL fits perfect for a layering piece. Just slightly tight around the belly as itâs slim fit, but I prefer that for layering with many mountain activities. Highly recommend this item especially at the current sale price.

Love this super soft and versatile hoodie. Fits great, moderate wind blocker, cozy and good for light jogs, grocery store, or anything else. Love the color (army green), the versatility and the thumb holes. I have recommended it to two friends, each got it and love it as well. Do it.

This hoodie is a great lightweight midlayer. It has a good range of motion, can climb in it without it pulling up. It's been a great layer for skiing and hiking as well. It mostly fits well. I wish the sleeves were a little longer, I can't comfortably utilize the thumb holes so they just mock me and make my wrists cold.

Great lightweight jacket. This is the second Backcountry brand jacket that I purchased. The first one I bought was the Wolverine Cirque Hybrid Insulated Jacket size medium which I have loved enough to try this one too. The Timpanogos fits a bit smaller than the Wolverine so I returned the medium I got for a large. It is good looking, feels great and looks well made. I have been wearing this jacket for about a month now & I liked it enough that I bought another plus one for my wife. I would strongly recommend both jackets. You wonât be disappointed.

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this jacket. Not only does it fit extremely well, but it has features I didn’t know it had when I bought it....on sale for like $40!!! Best $40 I’ve spent that I can remember. Anyway it has enough material to stand alone during fall in Chicago, but will need to be a base layer for winter. Best part of the jacket besides the price is the thumb holes! I have only worn it to take out the trash (I have to wear certain clothing when I go out) but it’s absolutely amazing.

I’m 6’4 and I bought a medium and it fits perfectly I’m 170, so I’m slimmer and it’s a great fit, for the discount it was on I absolutely love it and can’t wait to use it for the winter season, amazing zippers, pockets and logos

Love this hoodie. Great for a light bike ride, quick errands and my new go to for WFH life. Living in San Francisco, this cuts the wind and fog well when out and about. have not taken this to Tahoe/COLD weather yet, but very happy with this. Good job of wind cutting, but not a soft shell.

I used this a ton backcountry skiing this year and it was great. I pair this with a light baselayer or t-shirt, some crackers, white cheddar and maybe a light IPA. Its a snug fit but very stretchy. Used this as my only layer while spring skiing over a t-shirt. I like the chest pocket - easy access and pack straps don't get in the way. It looks great- I tend to wear this most days around the house... when goin out... sometimes when sleeping...

I have used this mostly as a casual jacket. It has been on one or two hikes, but I’m worried about tearing it up bc I like it so much for everyday wear. It is a bit form fitting, but that is part of its appeal. It also is a touch longer which I love to help keep overlapping layers keeping everything covered. Once it’s on it hugs like a good base layer. No extra fabric to fold on itself of tuck itself away under a strap. It’s pretty good at keeping you warm without overheating until you start making some serious heat up a hill or something, then it’s time to shed. This is my go to down to about 40F and it always performs well.

By far my favorite article of clothing when hiking or trail running during the early spring in northern Utah. Fits great, not too warm and not too cold.

I just received this item today, so can't comment on long term durability. But like other reviewers said, Backcountry seems to have really knocked it out of the park with this one! Unfortunately mine arrived with some marks on the shoulders. They look like oil or dirt or scuff marks, so I'm going to contact BC customer service to work on an exchange. So I knock 1 star off for that, otherwise it would be 5 stars.. But other than that, I really love the fit and style. The fit looks just like it does in the photos: slightly fitted, with enough room for a T shirt, long sleeve T, or your favorite wool base layer underneath. And what's great about it being slightly slim fitted is that it looks very sleek and stylish for around town, but then you can easily throw a shell or even a lightweight insulated jacket on top for more warmth, like an Atom LT or First Light Stretch. I love functional pieces that do double duty and can be worn around town, but also out in the sticks for my adventures. The thumbholes are AWESOME! Thank you Backcountry for adding thumbholes! And if you decide to wear it without using the thumbholes, it still looks like regular sleeves and regular wrist cuffs. Really nice! The hood is nice and comfortable. It's slightly fitted and doesn't droop or sit too baggy on your head. The interior fleece of the jacket is very soft and comfy. And having not only 2 zippered hand pockets but ALSO a zippered chest pocket is just straight awesome! Zippers are smooth and easy to operate. Stitching looks solid inside and out. I'm 6'3" tall, 175 lbs (tall and thin) and the Medium fits me well. If I could change anything, I'd add an extra inch or two in length to both the torso and the sleeves, but it still looks and feels very good as is, this is just me being a tall person. For everyone else it's probably perfect. I would definitely recommend this feature packed piece. I will come back at a later time and re-review once Backcountry sends me an exchanged piece and I've put it through the wringer. But so far, good initial impressions.

Very nice hoodie, well made. But definitely intended for a tall or slim fit, not shorter and stockier builds. Had to return it, afraid to get the large as I suspect it will go halfway to my knees.

I like a more technical fit so the Medium works great for me. I have no doubt that someone with my build could wear a Large if they want a more relaxed fit. That being said this thing is warm. I used it to ski tour on an overcast day in the mid 20's and it was too hot. I would think this would be a great Alaskan mid layer. However, for resort storm shredding this layer was perfect. It kept me warm and dry until the last chair. This jacket simply rocks.

I've been wearing this fleece as an active piece and it works great! The mountain that I broke this piece in on is the namesake of the jacket. Mount Timpanogos is the 2nd highest peak in the Wasatch and if a local favorite. My buddy Tommy and I choose to do a more technical route up the front face that is also known as the Everest Ridge where a group of Utahns trained to climb Mt Everest on. The Route goes from Utah valley to the summit at 11,750 ft. With nearly 7,000 ft of elevation change in under 5 miles you break a sweat, I choose to use this jacket as a mid-layer as we were moving the entire time and needed something that would keep me warm and comfortable while moving. This jacket did a phenomenal job at just that. I've continued to use this jacket on lots of hikes as its a great piece and still looks good for when you're in town. The thumb holes that this jacket has been amazing and keeps your hands much warmer on those chilly days. All in all an awesome jacket that is comfy and is a workhorse!

Only wish? It was about an inch or two longer. Light and breathable when needed, yet keeps you warm and dry when the temps drop. Love the thumb holes and fleece lining. Functionality pairs perfectly with style. A multi-sport piece for any adventure.
