When we're riding technical lines in Moab or Sedona, we need a short that won't restrict movement and that can keep us comfortable through the tightest sections. The Slickrock Short are made from a stretchy synthetic blend, providing excellent freedom of movement so we can maneuver through the Notch or the line for a post-ride burger and shake. The synthetic fabric is durable, for that inevitable scrape against a rock, and dries quickly so you won't feel clammy or too chilled. Two zippered front pockets stow anything you need within arm's reach and don't want tucked away in a pack, while the laser-cut vents help dump heat on the climbs.

Love these shorts. I have both BC shorts (empire is the other). The fit for me is spot on. The fabric is light but durable. Nothing about these shorts distracts me while I ride. I too don’t use the pockets for my cell (rx) in either shorts (it fits, but I don’t like the feel when at the top of the stroke when in the saddle). Actually really like the bright color.

These are great! I seriously cannot think of any negatives. They fit like a dream, are buttery smooth and the color POPS! love the zippers and the breathable-ness. The only problem is I want more pairs...

***These were a free gift**** I would 100% purchase these outright and have already recommended to friends. I absolutely love these shorts. The material is so lightweight and stretchy. I tend to have larger athletic thighs and I've found some shorts to be too constricting. These are not the case. I also really like the minimal velcro at the waist since I tend to forget to close this part on other shorts during the wash and always have clothing stuck. The sticky dots along the waist band do a great job keeping the shorts in position.

These are my first pair of mountain bike shorts and so far I'm super impressed. These shorts are comfortable and stylish and I really love the material and the color (I got the blue). Also super functional with the larger front pockets for fitting a phone. I'm 5'4, 138lbs and got the small which fit my legs perfectly, but the waist is a little big. The one other thing I wish these had are either belt loops or a built in belt to sinch the waist tighter. Otherwise, very happy with this purchase!

I’ve been searching for months for a stretchy lightweight pair of shorts for those hot summer rides, and these are them. They are the perfect length, true to size and ridiculously amazing to wear in the heat! I’m 5’10” 160lbs and bought a medium. I could wear a size large if I wanted them a bit looser! But seriously, buy them.

I would have rated these higher if they were designed a bit better for a women’s body. I’m 5’4” 115lbs and although the small did fit (waist a bit large), the thighs were too snug to put a cell phone in either pocket and because the fabric is so thin, lightweight and stretchy (which was great), it was just too snug. If they had just had a thigh sized for a normal shape. I ended up returning them and keeping a different brand.

I love these shorts! I am a daily biker and need shorts that can keep up with me. These shorts fit the bill. I am 5'4" and typically wear a Small, or size 4 pant, in this short bought a small and it fits very well. Despite not having adjustable waist features it fits me well everywhere I need it to. When I first put the shorts on they were fairly tight on the thigh however they relaxed as soon as I began riding. They are moisture-wicking and breathable, so much so that you almost feel like you are not wearing shorts at all! They are water repellent so when you splash through a puddle the water just beads off. The last thing I love about these shorts is how cute they are. The perforated holes add a little detail that separates them from other shorts on the market. The length of the shorts is perfect, and I would be very happy to wear these from trail to town once we are all socially allowed to.

Lets be real-It isn't hard messing up biking socks, jerseys, or gloves. But biking pants? That is a make it or break it! I feel like I've tried almost every mountain biking pants on the market, and been disappoint in some way. So I was very skeptical at first when trying these pants. After some long rides-putting them through the wringer. I cant find anything wrong with them.... Like im shook. Backcountry made the best MB pants on the market.. Not just saying that. The are durable to handle all your spills and OTB's. Very flattering and soft on. No scratchy material. And they are FUNCTIONAL! The fabric has enough stretch that allows you to get in the deepest riding positions, not restricting you. Phone fits perfectly in the pocket, it isn't getting in the way while pedaling. Very breathable. Yes, the orange color is sweat proof..... Lastly that price point! I've paid an absurd amounts for MB pants that arent half as good as these. Dont think, just buy. These are everything you've dreamed a MB short would be. I have an tiny waist and an athletic build hips, and thighs. Id say they fit true to size.
