Softshell pants are such a game changer for touring. They give you so much more freedom to move around, make less noise, and still shed plenty of snow/moisture on all but the snowiest/longest of days. These particular pants fit great, are well articulated for hiking, and the removable suspenders are a nice touch. They function well, but once removed you can barely even tell they were there if you aren't a suspender person. The waist belt works great too so I just use that and leave the suspenders at home. I'm 6' 195lbs wear size 34x32 pants and the Large fits me great, with a little extra room in the waist that I can take up with the belt no problem. The price is at the higher end compared to some other softshell options, but having owned other Arc'teryx items for years and seen how well they function and hold up over time I think they are well worth it.

Sat in the snow for about 2 minutes with nothing coming through. It was breathable and had side zippers for dumping heat. The snowshoeing was fantastic thanks in part to these pants!

Size S, fits true to size, trim but not tight. Color grey: matches product photos. Pockets and zippers are in ideal locations. Fabric blocks enough of the wind without feeling clammy. Easy to unzip and get the cuffs over the lock buckle of a TLT5 boot while keeping the gaiter in place. Bonus feature, there is a clip cord in the left pocket for a beacon leash or keys.

Used these on several multi-pitch ice climbs. They kept me dry, and were plenty warm with a fleece lined softshell underneath them in temperatures in the teens at night. Great for unrestricted movement while climbing.

I took these out for a tour last week and it was storming out and pretty wet for a soft shell pant I was impressed with how waterproof they were. I was also impressed with how they fit around my snowboard boots Arcteryx is generally a slimmer fit in my experience, I wore the large at 5'9" 170 and they were great. If my buddy in that picture had a caption it would say I just triggered an Avalanche but its ok because those pants Kevin has are amazing!

When the temps are too low and all you need is a lightweight pant, this is the one for you. This is one of the most comfortable pants I've worn. I love how you can move so easily in them and they bind or pinch. They also are quiet, which is great compared to some Gore-Tex fabrics which can be quite noisy.

I bought these for ski touring. They breath well and move with the body. They are a trim fit and I am a 32in waist and normally wear medium but went with a small. So far, I love them.

These pants are perfect for touring or snowshoeing, cross country skiing, or just a warm resort day. They seemed really water resistant while being super stretchy and comfortable. Pockets in just the right place and the fit was on point. 32x32 fit a Medium perfectly.

These are super nice pants! Very stretchy, durable, comfortable, and waterproof! I love the zippers on the bottom of the pant-legs. It made it so easy for me to fit these over my snowboarding boots. Great for a warmer day! just putting them on filled me with an excitement that I've only felt a few times in my life. I know I can't stay still with these on!

I totally loved these soft shells. They kept me at the perfect temp as I skinned up the mountain with their easy side zips. The stretch of these pants was great as I would really stretch my legs on my kick turns. Highly recommend these for anyone looking for a great ski touring pant. These are top of the line.

Bought these for my husband and he says this: Awesome, comfortable pants that are great both in the resort and also in the backcountry. These are my new go-to pants this winter.

The softshell is a really nice weight for cold weather to spring condition touring. They are well articulated and quite stretchy. I appreciate that the suspenders are removable because I don't really enjoy using them. Side zips are adequate and the reinforced instep is standard. I really like the thigh pockets and think they are pretty perfect - great for maps and notebook. Fit is athletic/trim but not too tight.

These pants are unreal. with an Aequora softshell that has 4 way stretch and a trim fit, you can't find a better looking or feeling pant for backcountry pursuits or ski mountaineering. very breathable and weather resistant, with touring cuffs to allow access to your boots while still keeping snow out. removable suspenders for harness compatibility and an aesthetic you can't pass up. normally a 34 waist and went with the large because of the trimmer fit.
