Adding luxurious cushioning to one of their most popular road shoes, Altra went all out with the Torrin 4.5 Plush Running Shoe to give you the cushioned comfort you need for your longest excursions on bike paths and pavement. Delivering the same foot-friendly features that have made Altra such a trusted name in distance running, like the Zero Drop platform and wide toe-box, this shoe beefs up the Torrin 4.5's cushioning to help runners who like a softer landing or are really pushing the distances on harder surfaces. The max-cushioned Quantic midsole ensures a soft and comfortable landing with every step, while delivering responsive energy return and remaining decidedly lightweight. A strobel layer and cushioned insole are also added to the Plush version of the Torin 4.5 to give you greater cushioning and comfort, helping you push yourself when you might otherwise be feeling the effects of a less cushioned shoe. A soft engineered knit upper offers comfort and breathability for long miles, and the flexible foot-mapped outsole allows your foot to flex and bend naturally through its gait, even with all that comfy cushioning in tow.

Been running in these for about a month. I have a wide foot, and switched to these after altra narrowed the timp 2 down. I'm pretty hard on shoes, run on average 35 miles a week, over steep and rough terrain. At first these shoes felt great, fit is perfect for my wide foot, they have a lot of cushion and feel like pillows on the feet, but snug so they are not sloppy. But for about a week now the cushioning under balls of feet are compacted down to almost nothing. I can feel every pebble, branch and root underfoot. And balls of feet are sore. It's pretty bad. I'm resorting to taking pre-run advil. That said, the upper looks great still. I found them on sale 104$ and just ordered another pair.
